These brands have been on the market for a very long time and well know all around the world. DULUX has all the products you might need for an interior or exterior renovation. They are Australian made products.

How to choose the Right Products?

If you are planing to paint the Interior walls of your home and use DULUX Wash & Wear Interior (Low Sheen) Paint, you can simply wipe down any marks with a wet rag without damaging the paint job. Some other (cheaper) brand promise you the same thing but in reality when you try to remove the marks with a wet rag, it will also take off some of the paint from the wall and also leaves you a mark. The same thing is true for the Gloss Enamel which you might want to use on the doors, door frames, windows and skirting boards. It is worth spending the extra dollars. It is a lot easier to work with quality products. They will give you a lot better end result too. They usually cover better then the cheaper, other brand name products.

If you are planing to paint the Exterior of your home make sure that you really check out the actual product that you would like to use. Product Data Sheets are available for everyone so do your research and find them online. You can simply go to your local paint store and they will be happy to provide you the technical sheets. When you are choosing a product, make sure that it will provide you the required quality. Especially in the Australian weather conditions you better pay the extra amount of money for the exterior paint. Some paint could fade by time. Dulux WeatherShield Exterior (Low Sheen) Paint is a perfect choice for every exterior surfaces. It has a 40 years of background and was designed for weather conditions such as snow, rain, cold, hot, etc. It is an Australian made product and will give your home a real protection. It can be applied on guttering, fascia, render wall, weather board, colorbond, timber or any other exterior surfaces.

If you are planing to paint the Roof of your home, stick to quality! Every roof is under direct sunlight during the day. Imagine using a poor quality product. They will fade away in an unbelievable short period of time and the sunlight will reach the surface of the tile or colorbond steel. There will be no protection for the roof at all. In a short time you will be at the same point where you started. There is no point of a roof restoration or respray if you are planing to use cheaper product! Be careful when you are hiring a contractor. Make sure that they will use a quality brand name product including the Sealer and Top Coats! In many cases they tell you that they will use a good product which will give you "xx" years of protection but in reality they use a cheap material. They provide you a cheap Quote saying that they will use a good product, but in many cases they don't! And the worst thing is that you will never notice the difference when the job is completed. It will look exactly the same or similar as the quality product but in a short period of time the colour will fade and there will be no protection at all to your roof. DULUX has a product for both colorbond roofs and tile roofs. Dulux AcraTex 962 Roof Membrane can be used on both. It is one of the best roof paint on the market today. It can be applied by an Airless Spray System and will give you protection for many years. It is available in many different colours. DULUX AcraTex 962 Cool Roof is very similar to 962 Roof Membrane except Cool Roof has the InfraCOOL Technology which reflects more of the Suns invisible InfraRed energy. It is an excellent Heat Resistant product. Two coats of Cool Roof is equivalent to 93cm of concrete cover. It is available in most of the colours in the 962 Roof Membrane range. Dulux WeatherShield Roof & Trim is perfect for colorbond or any other steel roofs. It can be applied the same way using an Airless Spray System. It is available in many different colours and can also be tinted if you prefer something different. All three products are suitable for collecting drinking water! If you are planing to paint your Garage Floor there are various products available. Depending on the final result there is a wide range of products available. Epoxy 2Pak Flake is the most cost effective but can give you a lifetime of many years without doing any major maintenance or recoat the area. 2Pak is also available in a one colour finish. They are a bit cheaper and it can also give you a long lifetime. There are some other brands that can provide you a cheaper solution. Instead of using 2Pak, there are some normal floor / paving paints which can be used on garage floors. They are also Heavy Duty Floor Coatings with a long lifetime. DULUX Luxafloor Epoxy (2Pak Finish) is one of the best products to use on the floor. It has been used in factory outlets, hospitals, shopping centers and many other places. It was designed for areas where you have traffic. BERGER Jet Dry Non-Slip Floor Paint is also a really good quality product. It is a cheaper solution for everyone but it can also give you a nice finish and long lifetime. For driveways, Berger has a product that can be applied easily by anyone. Berger Concrete Sealer will give your driveway a better look and will protect it at the same time.

If you are planing to do a Deck Restoration or planing to apply a protective coating on interior, exterior timber, SIKKENS is a perfect choice. SIKKENS is a well known product all over the world. It is one of the best quality product. Their products were designed for weather conditions, direct sunlight, etc... They are available in a wide range of colours. They are UV and water resistant so they can be applied on any timber including doors, door frames, windows, furniture, floors, and any other timber items. Sikkens might be more cost effective then other cheaper products but again, quality is what you need. There is no point saving a small amount of money and recoat the whole deck only because you have chosen the poor quality at the first time.

Quality is Everything!

If you are doing a renovation or simply planing to repaint your home always remember that a good quality product will last longer. It is always worth spending some extra but you will be able to enjoy the new paint job for a longer time. They are always easier to maintain and also easier to apply. If you Hire a Contractor make sure that he will provide the product of your choice. Never pick the cheapest Quote, some contractors are cutting the total price by using cheaper materials. Even if you choose the product, make sure that they will use that particular product. Not only the final top coat but the primer, sealer, filler, silicon, putty and other materials are important!

They can also help you to choose the right colours for your home if you need any help. They can provide you all the product data sheets and can tell you everything about that particular product. You can buy all materials and/or tools at one place which will save you time and money by driving around looking for various products. You can check out your local hardware store as well but sometimes they have some products which is not available in your area. Sometimes they run out of stock. Price is almost the same no matter where you go unless you have a trade account with them. Sometimes online shops or eBay can offer you a good deal so it is also worth to check out. At the same time you do not get any help from them, once you make a payment you are on your own.
